Obedience is a good thing, poem about obedience

–

Obedience is a Good Thing

A horse
that only wants to do
what they want to do
is frustrating
and basically useless.
You can try to train it
but it needs
to want to learn.
We think obedience
is a detestable constraint
and we want free reign
to kick and snort,
and be obstinate,
but how else can
divine Love utilize us?
We must align
with the one Mind
that is supreme,
and be ordered
and responsive
so the bit
can be gentle
in our mouth.
Then we can find
what bliss really is
and finally be at liberty
to be our best,
truest, and most
graciously
flamboyant selves.
