Book Review: The Five People You Meet in Heaven

The Five People You Meet in Heaven

I disagree in general with the depiction of heaven in this book. Let’s explain ourselves and understand the why’s of our human lives in the ongoing here and now, instead of waiting until the afterlife. I also challenge his assertion that, without exception, every parent messes up their kids. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this book and give it four stars. It has been a long time since I’ve read something that utilizes such a creative storytelling vehicle as is used here. Truly a fresh, original story, it is interesting, although not as profound as I hoped. The message is we are all connected by an often unseen web, that sacrifice is an acceptable part of life, forgiveness is necessary and inevitable, and love is what remains.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
