I have lovely, huge art books inherited from both my mother and my aunt’s collection, and while our older daughter was home for Thanksgiving, she pulled them out to show me what she saw in Europe last year. That’s when I fell in love with Neo Impressionist Henri Edmond Cross all over again, and I’ve since been thinking about him all week.

I see here all sorts of influences from the pointillists and early (almost) fauves that have inspired my work for so long. My “dottiness” may stem from here  or maybe it is just the rhythm my hand demands? Don’t you love the energy it brings?
