Quotes About Perfection from the Bible

Bible quotes about perfection

There were so many great quotes about perfection in last week’s Bible Lesson, I post some of them here not only to share them with you, but to keep track of them for my own reference later. I love how it is not the arrogance of perfectionism we are talking about here, but something completely humble because it is thoroughly about God and how He has made us, not anything we have done of ourselves.

“God created man in his own image” Genesis 1:27

“I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it nor anything taken from it.” Ecclesiastes 3:14

Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:8

Every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning… Whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty and continueth therein, he not being a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1: 17, 25

“Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.” Deuteronomy 18:13

“Lift up a standard for the people.” Isaiah 62:10

“Mark the perfect man and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.” Psalms 37:37

“The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me.” Psalm 138:8

“Put on charity which is the bond of perfectness.” Colossians 3:12-14

“Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace shall be with you.” II Corinthians 13:11

“I will behold thy face in righteousness. I shall be satisfied when I awake with thy likeness.” Psalms 17:15

“I am the Almighty God: walk before me and be thou perfect.” Genesis 17:1
