I painted a lot while we visited friends in their villa in Tuscany. In 10 days I painted 15 paintings, both in plein air and in their magnificent art studio, some in pastel (which are available for sale) and the rest in my sketchbook.
They sketchbook will be completely full of this trip to Tuscany. All the pages shown here were done while we were on our friend’s property, and those I did while in Chiusi are shown here. There are four more pages that have yet to be completed. When I eventually get those finished, I will post them, as well as a video flip through of the whole sketchbook travel journal in order.
I am so grateful to have had this precious time to study and paint the Tuscan landscape. I painted a total of 23 paintings in a 17 day trip. I really feel like I’ve been there! Just being able to go was an amazing opportunity, and I was delighted to make the most of it. Thank you again to those who made it possible!
I am honored to have the painting above now hanging in the villa we stayed in, just a few feet away from where I painted it in plein air, while we were there. A part of me remains in Italy!
