Sun (Poem by Ted Kooser)

Sun (Poem by Ted Kooser)
Sun, poem by Ted Kooser

Walking in the Light (pastel) by Polly Castor

Sun

I have been sitting here resting
after my morning stroll, and the sun
in its soft yellow work gloves
has come in through the window
and is feeling around on the opposite wall,
looking for me, having seen me
cheerfully walking along the road
just as it rose, having followed me home
to see what I have to be happy about.

I love this poem about the Sun by Ted Kooser! How delightful to think of the sun coming in the window and feeling around on the opposite wall. Can’t you just see it? That’s what writing in any form does if done well. Thank you for a wonderful summer day’s bit of imagination.
