Be the Light in the Darkness (pastel) by Polly Castor

What to Do in Darkness

Don’t despair.
Be more conscious and aware.
Move carefully, cautiously.
Lean on each other
as you grope forward.
Focus your energy
on germinating
like a planted seed
that craves photosynthesis.
This crucible is temporary.
Trust the power of the light
to banish with impunity
every mere shadow.
Grow bravely toward
the inevitable dawn.
