The September Issue movie review

For those of us who loved The Devil Wore Prada, you may wish to see The September Issue movie as well. It is about the real editor in chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour, who is considered by many as one of the most influential women in the world.

This documentary follows the creation of the largest September Vogue issue yet (2007), and shows Anna and photographer Grace in action. Creativity, decision making, and fashion combine as one, and this film puts a more human face on this process than was represented by the demanding ice queen depicted in The Devil Wore Prada.

While I would give The Devil Wore Prada fives stars, and this movie –The September Issue – only 3 stars, this realistic view behind doors of the fashion industry is very interesting.

Sitting here in my shorts and T-shirt it has been decades since I’ve looked at a September issue of Vogue, but after watching this I’ll be checking it out this fall with fresh appreciation.

I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
