I love this art by Minnesota artist Judith Bergerson, with her strong sense of composition and beautiful use of natural forms. I especially like what she calls her Mindscape series, with its negative painting around tree trunks in the distance, as well as her organic rocks. Her drawings and collages are wonderful too.

She taught K-12 art and I think the inventiveness and ability to summarize art concepts that job required shows here in her work.

She has a very interesting website–see it here– and I recommend reading through the pages she has listed under the tab “Making Better Art.” For example, check out her “Personal Inventory,” or her “Secret Formula,” her “How to Critique Your Own Work” post, or her recommendations on composition. She knows what she is talking about.

Also I thought this page was worth seeing about how she builds up an image.

See some of my favorites of her work in this post. You can follow her on Instagram here.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
