I’m a Vehicle (New Poem by Polly Castor)

I’m a Vehicle
I feel like a vehicle
waiting in the driveway
sure that I’ll eventually
be driven somewhere.
I’m just in service
to a higher idea
that makes the plans,
runs the scheduling
drives there, and does
what needs to be done.
Meanwhile, I’m open
to being utilized,
prepared to obediently
start on a moment’s notice,
ready to trust the process
and function seamlessly
to deliver whatever
amazing good
needs to progress,
throughout this leg
of its journey
toward its destination.
So much borrowed joy
for me in the process!
The places I’ll go,
and the fruition I’ll
contribute to!
Here I am.
My engine is ready
to roar into action.
