I have never been to Giverny, but I’ve spent my life taking photos of water like this, as you long time blog readers well know. These water vignettes are so abstract and lovely to me. The colors remind me of Monet, and I thought the title might help people know what they are looking at, although to me it is quite obvious.
This is 28″x36,” painted in oil; and it took a month of work. This textural, intricate surface was achieved in many overlapping layers, each risking ruining the layer below. See the entire work above and close-up details below.
