We had some really good food in Maine. Above, you can see some of the wild blueberries we picked along the trail. First below you can see the massive seafood platter piled high with clams, scallops, and haddock that James and I shared the first evening we were there. We enjoyed popovers and lobster niçoise at Jordan Pond House partway through our 18 mile bike ride on the Acadia National Park carriage roads. I had some terrific parmesan halibut, a fabulous lobster roll on a homemade bun, and a Mexican inspired scallop salad. We had a wonderfully leisurely dinner on the bay awaiting the sunset where we shared calamari appetizers, then I had an amazing lobster casserole (he had broiled haddock) followed by cake. You’ll also see here some lobsters we saw someone carrying in a basket from the marina to their car, photos from the farmer’s market, some eggs and salads we made and ate on the deck of our cabin, delicious meal of lentil salad, crab rolls and deviled eggs made for us by a friend (and blog reader) in her home (thank you!). And of course we indulged again in some of our favorite fresh donuts. Wow, what a week!

My mouth is watering!! The photo of the cake belongs in a travel magazine! :-D I can just feel the warm Maine breeze sailing lazily over the water. Summers in New England – nothing like it..
