Photos of Holbrook Farm Dahlias

I went to Holbrook Farm for the last of the corn and what confronted me was dahlias. Oh my gosh! Enormous ones and variegated ones, they have them, with the tubers carefully dug up and stored from year to year. Mostly in this post you’ll see dahlias (the huge ones are called “dinner plate dahlias”) but you may also see some cockscomb, mums and zinnias mixed in with a few vistas of the farm. And you can’t help noticing their wonderful bakery case festooned with dahlias as well. After taking the time to prowl around in their garden to photograph these amazing blooms, I couldn’t resist buying some, so you can see my take-home choice at the end of the post. I plan on using them as church flowers tonight. Goodbye to corn for one more year..
