People here plant crocus in their lawns as they will be finished before mowing is required.  I think it’s a great idea.  The patch in our yard is only about two feet square, with about twelve blossoms. This is better than in the past, maybe due to the mild winter. However, ours were all served up as a delicacy last night to deer willing to venture downtown in our small town for this treat!  Anyway… Don’t you love how the color of the flowers changes so drastically between the sunned areas and those in shadow?
