My 15 Year Old’s Library Haul

My 15 Year Old’s Library Haul

I have done something wonderfully right.  I have raised readers.  My oldest two were early readers, avid about it from the beginning and continuing without lapse.  But my youngest started later; her learning style is not text based. There were years where I despaired of the reading bug ever biting her.  Not so any longer.  Shown here is what she checked out of the library yesterday for her personal reading. This pile represents expectations for six weeks time, considering three week due dates with one renewal, and two weekends gone at robotics competitions. And she will get through all these in that time. (The books on CD she listens to while she works on intricate beading projects.) While I’m not so partial to the fantasy and science fiction she loves, I’m thrilled to see her so deliriously happy over a pile of library books.  Maybe much of what we worry about is totally unnecessary and will sort itself out?

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
