We Go up the River to Kaunos

We Go up the River to Kaunos

Visiting Kaunos

We went up the river to Kaunos on a river boat, the river being too shallow for our big one, to the ruins of a city from the 3rd and 4th century B.C. It had a very intact amphitheater, and what I found most interesting were the tombs carved into the cliffs overlooking the river.

We returned to our boat to swim and then walked around the town of Fethiye, before our last dinner onboard together.

The food has been great the entire time, from the daily breakfast spread shown first below, to the watermelon juice, the flaming salted Mediterranean Sea bass, as well as the best green melon you’ve ever had, and yes, lots of baklava.

We’ve had an amazing, joyous time all together, which we will remember always. Everyone of us is overwhelming grateful for this opportunity to explore this special place together. We leave tomorrow to be scattered again to Virginia, Connecticut, Texas, Louisiana, California and London.
