I love Gianni Notarianni’s attention to detail and pattern in the woodland and meadow landscape.  I also like how his solid amorphous and bleak structures contrast to the abundant interest and fascinating variety of nature in their settings. These paintings are done in oil, mostly with a very small brush. You can see him working on one here.
