Morocco: Marrakesh Gardens, Museums, Shopping, and Goodbyes

Marrakesh photos

Our last day in Morocco!

We spent the morning in the Majorelle gardens, the Berber Arts Museum, and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum (the museums did not allow photos).

Then we went back to the Medina to do some shopping. I returned and got that hot pink purse ($30) shown on yesterday’s blog. Our daughter bought inlaid wooden boxes for Christmas presents, and a linen shirt for my husband as a Christmas present. Also for herself she got another jacket and some turquoise, suede, pointy, slipper shoes. Bartering is now second nature; we’ve come a long way from our first days and it is fun now rather than stressful.

We had a terrific lunch at the Mandala Society, and then spent the afternoon getting a traditional Moroccan hammam (my first spa experience!), which was nurturing and reinvigorating. It was perfect to do after the desert, at the end of the trip.  Afterwards, the whole group gathered for our last dinner together, and after goodbyes, flew out the next morning.

This whole trip has been AMAZING and I’m so grateful for all of it. It was wonderful to get all this quality time with our daughter, as well as immerse ourselves in another culture, and get to know some new people. I’m grateful for our health and safety and joy the whole time, and for each unique locale, with all its attendant color and texture. And all this happened simply because I said YES! Thank you!!

He sold me the pink purse, and we has a great time while our daughter deliberated over shoes across the alley.

Goodbye!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
