Freedom From

This Fourth of July
I want freedom from
hubris and inadequacy,
lies and deflection,
self-justification,
manipulation,
and ingratitude,
polarized divisions,
the tyranny of money,
the burden of inflation,
the stress of meaninglessness,
too much scrolling,
inane distractions,
competing objectives,
misunderstandings,
crumbling infrastructure,
environmental degradation,
needing to fix and improve,
wondering how to have fun,
exhaustion, insincerity,
lack of self-awareness,
insecurity, limitation,
endless chatter,
too much information
skewed media,
dissatisfaction,
restlessness and complacency,
exclusion and entitlement,
misrepresentation of facts,
sensationalism, contention,
defensiveness, emotionalism,
criminals and insurgents,
indifference and concern.

I want to know
the government of the universe
is securely on the shoulders
of the one and only
effective divine Love
while totally maintaining
a staunch and interfaith
separation of church and state.

I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. Thanks for this. I keep wondering how to pray about all this because I don’t want to wake up with an authoritarian government.
