I am pleased to have my above monoprint collage juried into the Collage Artist’s of America annual show.
You can see the show online here.
Often showing my work in pastel shows, or in shows for women artists, this is the first time I’ve entered a show specifically for collage artists.
I’m not in love with all of the styles of collage art shown in this show, and am especially not a fan of montage or ephemera. However, below I have included my favorites from this show.
The last one I consider to be the absolute best. The artist said he first made collage paper by flooding a surface with yellow paint, then poured turpentine over it, followed by red paint. After this was dry and the pieces were cut into shapes, he shaded them with charcoal before they were assembled, to give them dimensionality. This piece is amazingly well done.
What do you think of this show?
