We had a wonderful (incredibly sweet) day celebrating Easter. We invited some church friends over and we spent the entire afternoon eating and talking. I made my excellent Gluten Free Crab Cakes (which are all crab with no breading filler) and we made my family’s traditional Sugar Cookies as seen above. Our guests brought yummy deviled eggs, salad, Cauliflower Leek Gratin, and cranberry scones. We’ve known these people for many years and they feel like family. We also had phone calls with our daughters and sisters.

James made the table cloth and napkins out of lovely linen we saw, which had yellow threads going one direction, and hot pink threads going the other way, producing an amazing orange sheen. This is the first time we used it and it will be a perennial favorite in the years to come. It coordinates with our china very well.  It was also fun decorating the table with paper “grass,” chocolate, candles, and flowers.

I hope you had a wonderful day of love and renewal too.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. I have those dishes too. Villeroy and Bach Amopola. We stayed in a pension in Arnhem (A Bridge too Far) Holland. She had those dishes too. That Pension had been held by a Panzer division in WWII. Just little nit not.

I love them. I’ve collected them since I was about 17.
