Living for Yourself? Poem by Polly Castor

Living for Yourself?

The rain doesn’t fall to nourish itself.
A river doesn’t drink its own water.
Plants don’t perceive any of the beauty they exude.
Flowers cannot smell the fragrance they release.
Fall leaves never see what color they turn.
A fruit tree never eats its own produce.
The sun doesn’t shine in order
to make itself warm or to help itself grow.
No food ever tastes its own flavor.
All of nature lives to give.
Do you?

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. Bountiful Giving
    Shining with the Sun
    Self-less
    Fear-less
    Living In
    Life’s’s Goodness

    I think of you,
    And who we all are–
    Truly–
    And am glad
