I’m in this Connecticut Pastel Society Show
CPS Member Show 2020

In Utero (pastel) by Polly Castor

I was sorry to miss the opening for this show last Saturday due to other obligations (quadruple booked for that day!) because it is filled with work by both friends and students. I was, however, able to help hang the show beforehand, and got these photos at that time. Some work I was unable to photograph because of glare, and I apologize for some reflections on even these that I captured.

My painting in the show is above, titled, In Utero, and you can get more info on that here. I also have a small work in the show, shown first below, titled Red Fences, which I don’t think has been on the blog before. I chose it because it is so highly textured, and Connecticut Pastel Society is hosting a workshop of mine that will be focusing on that April 18 &19 (see here for info we’d love to have you), so I thought an example of texture in pastel might be good.

This is a wonderful group of people, and as you can see, the art is good too. Below is posted some of it, and how it is hung. The last painting got awarded Best of Show.

If you are local, please stop by to see this celebration of work in pastel for yourself at SOCCA (Southington Community Arts Association) until March 28.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
