Unlike the Skyline Trail, which was a hike, the Cabot Trail is a long drive through Nova Scotia. We did the part of it through Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
Below you can see ocean vistas, green hills the color of spring (in some cases they were almost yellow or turquoise!), moose barrens, bogs on the plateaus, rivers that look like root beer flowing, pink granite, crashing waves, lupine, lobster boats, and the Aspy fault line. We even saw a moose!
I learned here of the connection at one time with Scotland before Pangea broke up, which explains the similarity of those two highlands. I drove most of in in low gear, it was so windy and steep.

Awesome pictures Polly. So happy that you are sharing this beauty with us. What are the weather temperatures like? Is the water very cold? Have you dipped your feet into the sea? There doesn’t appear to be hordes of people there which makes it even more precious.

In Nova Scotia it was in the 70’s during the day and 50’s at night. Water was bracingly cold. Place is really empty. It is like spring here right now but they say it is not more busy in August.
