Day 2: Mount Desert Island (Photos and Plein Air Paintings)

Day 2: Mount Desert Island (Photos and Plein Air Paintings)

We started the day with a pilgrimage to Colonel’s Bakery for blueberry donuts (see above).

Next we drove to Sand beach which is a favorite spot. Our daughter spotted shrimp-like jumping bugs, ran the beach, and experimented with natural pigments. I took most of these photos, and painted the foggy vita in plein air. Then we drove to Thunder Hole, where I painted the abstract plein air landscape last below. Laura painted a tide-pool, and slept on a comfy rock. The crash of the waves are still ringing in our ears!

Not thrilled with my Sand Beach painting, but I love the Thunder Hole one!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
