Photo Compositions from the Air (Flying to Albuquerque)

Hello from a different time zone! I’m excited to be in Albuquerque this week at the IAPS International Pastel Convention for a week of all things pastel.

I flew in yesterday. I flew out of Hartford to Baltimore and changed planes there for Albuquerque. It was bumpy pretty much all the way, so it is amazing I got any photos at all! My flight from Hartford left late, getting into Baltimore late, and I had only 10 minutes to get from one end of the Baltimore airport to the other. Thanks to my new wheeled suitcase and my gym membership, I ran, and to my surprise made it!

Like so many things, for me flying is a photo op. I love hunting down compositions everywhere I go, and flying is such a fascinating time to do it. I love the grids and circles, the rivers and cloud shadows, the suburb layouts and the lone farms. It is amazing how different the colors of the east coast are from New Mexico.

I’m off now for my first workshop!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. Hi Polly! I met you at IAPS. Wasn’t it wonderful? Like you, I love to take photos from the window seat on plane rides. These are so good! What kind of camera did you use? (Please tell me it’s an iPhone!)
    Thanks!
