EndWorks: Out of Darkness Show

I”m in this EndWorks: Out of Darkness show sponsored by the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut and the Danbury Women’s Center. It is an effort to further the conversation about domestic violence and sexual assault. The show is at 287 Main Street in Danbury through August 4, 2017.

My piece, shown first below and titled From Violence to Hope, is about how the shards of violence are very dramatic and demanding, in our face and catching our attention, but that hope is ever glowing, and reassuringly beckoning. It got a lot of thoughtful attention during the opening, with people stopping to discuss it with each other at length. This was satisfying (and overcame my frustration over how poorly lit my painting was).

Check out some of the other artwork in this show and stop by to see it in person if you are local. The mosaic of the black woman crying was far and away my favorite! It was truly excellent and amazing in person.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
