Last Sunday I went to church in Concord, Mass, and enjoyed a delicious lunch afterwards on the main drag in town. The restaurant is not very imaginatively named Main Streets Market and Cafe, but this family has been serving food here for over 100 years, and they were doing a bustling business when I was there, for good reason. I wish we had this place where I live, and it is worth going out of your way for.
There were lots of options on the menu that I was tempted to order, but I settled on having salmon on the roasted beet salad. It was absolutely marvelous. I really appreciate real, fresh food, prepared straightforwardly with a little creativity. I hope to return and try one of those “extreme grilled cheeses,”–the one chock full of red pepper humus, vegetables and dill havarti…
Anyway, if you are ever in the area, you’ll be glad to know about this busy little gem, in this lovely, historic town.
