Does God talk to you? He sure does me. Yesterday I was told to go back in the house for my camera when I was taking my daughter to the farm to drop her off at her chore day for the shared harvest program. I was told explicitly that I’d want it for the cows that morning. I arrived to the dew still glistening and sparkling on the fence rails and causing a wet sheen on the barn roof. The sweet smell of newly mown grass arrested my nostrils. But I was curious about the cows, since God was making mention of them after all…
Here are the photographs I took. These cows exuded the rapturous joy of being well cared for. They had comfort and companionship. The Bible is resplendent with sheep/shepherd metaphors, but that morning, I was struck by the contentment of three cows, and extrapolated it heavenward, to imply how satisfied and doubtless we too can be governed by our own infinitely benevolent caretaker. All is right with the world, as the sun shines on in each new day.
