My Birthday 2017

I had a nice, low-key birthday yesterday. I started the day with an early breakfast my husband made for me: a gougere, a favorite indulgence. Then, midday, he took me out for a swordfish lunch.

My sister sent me a glass cutting guide for my collage work and Moments of Seeing, the new book from Katrina Kenison who wrote The Gift of an Ordinary Day. A gift from my other sister is still in transit…

Then in the evening, my knitting group met, and they surprised me with delicious cupcakes and homegrown eggs.

It was delightful to have such an average workday sprinkled with so many gracious treats. It is always wonderful to hear from so many friends and family. Thank you to everybody for all the love you sent in messages and calls. I love you all right back!
