I liked this book, regardless of the fact that it takes place in the pharmaceutical industry and has some explicit medical descriptions that may make some people uncomfortable.
The main character is sent to the Amazon by the drug company to check up on important research going on there, and is also charged with getting information regarding the death of a colleague there. The narrative that unfolds reads mostly like a mystery or adventure story, with a lot of science and imagination thrown in.
The characters are believable and multidimensional, and I particularly enjoyed a child named Easter. While the ending had aspects I could do without, it left me filling in the story beyond the last pages, conjecturing unsaid outcomes and futures, as only good books do. I give it four stars.
