In the Fairy Wood (New Pastel Painting)

In the Fairy Wood (New Pastel Painting)

In the Fairy Wood, by Polly Castor

The monthly challenge (that I’m spearheading for the Pastel Society of Maine) this month was to paint a landscape NOT in “local color.” That means, paint a landscape in colors that do not represent the actual colors. In this post was my submission, and we had fun on zoom yesterday discussing the various responses to the challenge.

This painting is of early spring in Huntington, in a different color way that makes it look like out of a fairy tale. This piece is 12″x16″ and done in pastel.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
