The rug I bought in Morocco (see post here) has come and is installed. You can see it above.
Below, you can see my husband opening the package, and on the floor then was the previous rug that we’ve had for about 20 years. We now have pattern instead of a solid, and while a bit busier, I think it recedes enough. Fortunately it fits and he likes it!
It reminds me of the Artist and Craftsman style of architecture that I like, and it feels way less formal. The honey color matches the wood floors. He says he feels it is cosy, and that he can feel the love that went into it. I agree.
We had dinner guests last weekend just after installing this– two grad students from Yale– and one of them was delighted to take our former rug off our hands, so that problem was promptly solved.
Also, the two tablecloths I got in Morocco, the striped agave silk one our daughter got for me as a Christmas gift, and the other, an inexpensive cotton camel blanket I purchased, came too; the rug company had been kind enough to include them in my rug shipment.
So my home is warmed up with memories of our Morocco trip as we gallivant into the New Year.
