Plein Air Oli Paintings Done in California

Plein Air Painting in the California National Parks

I have loved painting outside on location in the California National Parks.  These works are small, but were very fun to do. They are drying in the back window of my car. For ease in terms of time and set up, I am doing watercolors in my journal in the harder to access areas. I’ll post some of those soon.

The painting above and the last one below were done in Lassen Volcanic National Park while our daughter hiked to the top of Mount Lassen. The first one below was done in Kings Canyon National Park. Following that, is a painting of the famous El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. The other one was done in the campground of Sequoia National Park. There are others I started but will have to finish back in the studio, due to too much sun and wind!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
