My 11th MIT SPLASH Weekend

My 11th MIT SPLASH Weekend

MIT Splash weekend

As discussed on this blog before here, I found myself once again at MIT SPLASH: a remarkable weekend of classes for teens. This year I was back to bringing only one, our youngest; I started coming when our oldest was in sixth grade. I hung out with parents I’ve gotten to know over the years of doing this as well as enjoyed my nice hotel room (see the bright blue walls below) while our daughter soaked up the following classes:

  • Buoyant Force
  • Selected Topics in Modern Physics
  • On Black Holes, Singularities, and the Event Horizon: A Journey into the Abyss
  • Geometrilicious (A Whirlwind Session on Euclidean Geometry)
  • Ocean and Climate
  • Spacetime and Black Holes and More
  • A Survey of Quantum Physics
  • Introduction to Techno Composition
  • Cool Topics in Modern Physics
  • Fun with Electronics
  • Why We Need Quantum Mechanics
  • Sensational Failures in Engineering

It is an intense, fun-filled weekend!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
