Hartford Flower Show

Hartford Flower Show

Connecticut flower show

My husband has always wanted to go to the Hartford Flower Show so this weekend we went. We had our expectations high since we remember an amazing flower show in NYC two and a half decades ago. We hadn’t been to one since, and this one didn’t measure up, mostly because there just weren’t many flowers. After all this snow, that was certainly what we were hankering to see. But this was not really the floral photo op I was expecting.

So it turns out that what we paid our entrance fee for was vendor shopping. I took photos below of what I thought was most interesting. Here are the links I thought were worth sharing:

Hang a Pot (a nifty clip –that you don’t see– hangs pots from fences, porches or decks)

Porous Pave (very cool, water runs directly down through this pavement)

Peony’s Envy (expensive but interesting varieties)

Tower Garden (vertical aeroponic growing system; no dirt, no weeds; less water and land use)

The orange adirondack chair made of recycled bottles (fabulous)

Leather Seal (In one minute this stuff transformed my decade old leather Uggs –disgusting from road salt and the dusty pottery studio– into brand new looking and waterproof. I was impressed.)
