The Power of a Better Premise

What kind of God
Would create me
And then later authorize
The dissipation of my value
Ordaining sickness, death, and
The collapse of life on earth?

How can all the nations believe
In such a duplicitous, heinous God?
What creator wants its offspring
To become a victim of evil
And fulfill a prescribed doom?
Why do logical people play into
This unacceptable scenario
Thinking they have no recourse
And thus seem unwittingly
To be bringing it to pass?

That is not my God,
And indeed, to me
That is no God at all.

I urge the paramount necessity
And ultimate privilege of knowing
The one true actual God aright.
I believe the divine law
Is quite the opposite
Of what many people think.
And I beg for a world that starts
With a better premise than sin
And the expectation of suffering
Which are self fulfilling prophecies
Of a popular belief that would
Attempt to drag me along too
Because the deluded
Are so confident because
They are in the majority.

Imagine instead
If the majority believed
In my God of Love and Truth
And harmless Life ever-lasting
Who created me (and you!)
With dominion, oneness, and joy,
To be just and kind and intelligent
With heaven at hand
Here and now
and especially
Always?

Can you see how
This different premise
Brings an improved conclusion
Literally resulting
In universal salvation?

Let us be careful and exact
And understanding about God.
What we believe matters,
Not for sect or semantics,
But for our collective fruition,
Future liberty, safety, and bliss:
Culminating in the avoidance of
Carnal destruction.

We have the power
To choose the one and only
Actual true God.
Thought is more mighty
Than we reckon,
Like when the Great Depression
Was precipitated by a
simple, fearful thought
Which got accepted, and caught on,
And everyone ran to remove
Their money from the bank.
They could have easily
Chosen a better thought,
For a dramatically
Different outcome.

It is high time to challenge
Those worn out,
Vengeful views of God
And stop living in trepidation,
Self-infliction, and apology,
Replacing and refreshing
our concepts of God
With gentle, harmony inducing ones
Feeling God’s approval and grace
And living out from that better place
Embracing each other and all
With acceptance and compassion.

I feel it gathering steam.
I am convinced
A change
In direction is inevitable.
Please participate with me daily
In the turning of thought
On this pivotal point.

Like maneuvering a large barge,
The corner to be turned
Will seem excruciatingly slow,
And almost imperceptible
While it is happening,
Which makes it all the more
Important to assiduously
And conscientiously
Begin.
