Sunset from Cadillac Mountain

Sunset from Cadillac Mountain

Cadillac Mountain sunset

I was home from Maine for only a few days before returning to bring our youngest daughter to the College of the Atlantic for a campus tour, overnight, to attend some sample classes, and to be interviewed.

As soon as I dropped her off in Bar Harbor, I hightailed it up Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park to see the sunset. (Cadillac mountain is really just a large hill compared to what I call actual mountains, but it is the first place to receive the sunrise in the continental US and has a great view nonetheless.)

I’ve posted several sunsets recently (here and here) but I really enjoyed this one too, so here it is, in all its nuance. The rock I was standing on was covered in a green lichen that was almost iridescent in quality, accentuated by the awesome light. The evening glow also made this dog that was taking in the sight particularly lovely as well…

The most intense shots of the sunset were taken with my zoom lens. I enjoyed too that the ribbon-like cloud shapes were mirrored by the lake shapes below them.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
