Every year the Connecticut Pastel Society hosts a national show titled Renaissance in Pastel. It is a juried show, and is tough to get in. The painting above, got “best in show,” and in the last photo below, you can see the award winners.

Last Saturday was the reception for this show and it was well attended. You can see a small selection of the works below; I apologize for any glare or lighting reflections in the glass. If you are local, I recommend seeing this show in person at the gallery at UConn in Stamford.

Several of the artists whose work is shown here are fellow readers of this blog with you. I’m the membership chairman for this group (and therefore on the board) so if you know anyone interested in getting involved, please let me know!
