New Teacup with Experimental Glaze

Usually when working in pottery, I am drawn to either painting with underglazes or some definitive process involving carving, layers, or both. For this tea cup and saucer (that I threw on the wheel) I went out on a limb and carefully applied five different runny glazes. The colors on the outside of the cup and the saucer match each other, while I used a white base instead on the inside because I like to see the color of my tea. I am happy with how it came out and am encouraged to try other odd and unknown combinations in the future. The hood of my black car was utilized here as the backdrop for these photos…
