Movie Review: Puss in Boots

Puss in Boots movie review

I’ve been working around the clock and my husband thought I needed some time off so offered to take me to the movies.  Without many other great options we went to see Puss and Boots in 3D.  The artwork and particularly the dance scenes were great, but watching the hundreds of names in the credits made me wish all this talent had been applied to a better storyline.

For this story was not the classic tale of Puss and Boots but an ineffective amalgamation of Humpty Dumpty, Jack and the Beanstalk, and the Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs.  It is hard to take Humpty Dumpty seriously as an important character!

The best part of the movie was the foster mother who held out for the best in her children; every time they did the wrong thing or disappointed her she maintained, “You are better than that!”  I’ve thought of this many time since seeing this flick.  However, overall, I give this movie three stars.
