January’s treat: Fresh Squeezed Tangerine Juice

Fresh Tangerine Juice, Tangerine Juice

One of the delights of this month is fresh tangerine juice, which in my opinion is much better than orange juice.

We got a Braun Citromatic for a wedding present (19 years ago… thank you D.D!) and it is pressed into service every January, while stored for the rest of the year.  We buy tangerines by the bagful at Costco ($3.79 for 15) and it takes four to squeeze an eight ounce glass like shown above.

The top two juicer parts just require rinsing off, so clean up is hastle-free and very easy.  (Our daughter squeezes grapefruit juice instead, and one grapefruit yields a whole 8 ounce glass of juice.)  But I love the color of orange any way, so to drink in it’s sweetness makes this a highlight of the month.  No danger of scurvy here!  I hope you can try some.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
