Doodling (Mostly in Church)

Doodling (Mostly in Church)

I frequently doodle.  It helps me concentrate.  I’ve always known this to be true but have read recently that this has been confirmed by official research.

I often doodle in church to capture phrases that inspire me, but mostly to help me focus.  I am delighted that this official research vindicates me in the face of those who would suggest that I am distracting myself when I doodle.  Quite the opposite!

The doodle above is from today while I waited for my daughter at a 4H meeting where she was planning State Citizenship Day.  The ones below were done during church.  I carry a bound book with me in my purse for catching tidbits and for doodling.  I heartily recommend it.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
