I have a lot of rock hounds in my family so have spent much time browsing in rock shops on our travels. But nothing has ever approximated this store we went to in New York City, called the Astro Gallery of Gems. They can be found here on the internet and do a brisk online business as well.

My favorite thing was the coffee table made of lapis shown first below, although lots of stuff was interesting and amazing. I thought the mounted butterflies and bugs were beautiful, but am not thrilled about them being caught for this purpose.
