Architecture of Farmington, Maine

Farmington, Maine

We spent the last week in this college town, home of the University of Maine (ranked in the top 10 of state universities.) This charming place has a vibrant downtown. While we were here we saw 36 logging trucks go by. On most things, prices here were about half of what we pay in Connecticut. The sculpture outside the “green” building on campus is made from recycled lawnmower blades. The library was built by Carnegie: a granite building with a glass floor! There are lovely old homes here, which stretch far back from the road, connecting with barns or garages behind so one would not have to go outside in the winter. And I loved the metal roofs! Enjoy these picturesque examples of beautiful architecture!…

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
