The work on the left above, titled 34th, by Hans Fischer (see here) won First Place in our local Guild’s show. The show is open through February 25, 2011 (see here). It blew everyone else in the show out of the park in my opinion; it is a major home run, a bargain at $7200 for whoever has the right place to honor it. I love this piece, and couldn’t get enough of it. It is mixed media: paint, collage, wax, and pastel. It’s luminous and fascinating, composed impeccably with rich tone and texture. My hat is off to Hans; it is the best contemporary artwork I’ve seen in a long time. Below see some close ups, and then at the bottom drink in the complete masterpiece. Enjoy!
