Restaurant Recommendation: Cookshop in NYC

Cookshop restaurant review

Yay! I’m so glad to have been able to spend two days in New York City with the matron of honor in our wedding, my friend from college– yes, the one who introduced Christian Science to me all those years ago. You can see her above with her husband; he was in town for business so she came along to walk, talk, see the new Whitney Museum, play, and eat with me (as well as see some plays with her husband).

Of all the places we ate, I liked the Tenth Avenue Cookshop the best. It is down in Chelsea (lower west side) near the new Whitney Museum, and in the second photo down you can see the most amazing tuna melt I have ever had. It looks ordinary enough, but I assure you it was a marvelous taste sensation, complete with some seriously fabulous olives in there.

I highly recommend this out of the way place on 10 Avenue at 20th Street in New York City; it is wonderful, and very much worth the visit. Afterwards go to the Chelsea Market for gelato like we did. However, I hear this restaurant can get really busy, so make reservations!

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. Polly, I much appreciated your coverage of the Whitney, and the Chelsea pictures. General Seminary, from
which I have degrees, is at Chelsea Square. Joe
