Photos of Lilacs

The photo above is the flower arrangement I made of our lilacs last year for church. I show it because I cut them off the back of our bush as a dual pruning effort along with my flower arranging. And then this year we had not a single bloom off the back of our bush where those were cut last year! Does anyone know if I screwed up and that half of my bush is doomed? Or maybe, as usual, I just have to be patient.

My lilac bushes were given to me by each of my children one Mother’s Day many years ago (remember the annual nursery trip on Mother’s Day?) so I have three bushes right next to the driveway. I love their intoxicating fragrance as I sit on our screened-in side porch. Enjoy the pictures below that I took this year, even though I was unwilling this time to cut too many.

I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
