Our Silversmithing Class

Our Silversmithing Class

Silver Smithing Class

I’m taking a silversmithing class this year at Creative Arts Camp and now have a new appreciation for all the work that goes into handmade jewelry pieces! Ours is a small class and we are all working on individual projects of our choice. Our teacher (who designed the Cross and Crown Pendant mentioned the other day) was rigorously trained in Austria, and has designed very high end jewelry. It has been great to get to take this class with her.

I’ll show our finished work soon. Meanwhile we are sawing, filing, sanding, soldering, buffing, etc, slowly… very slowly. This is not fast paced work.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. My brother was a silversmith. He made my first engagement ring with red gold and three beautiful diamonds. Unfortunately it was thrown away by my 3 year old when we moved to Toronto. Pity…I would love to still have it as my brother has now passed on. Looking forward to seeing what you make!
