Opinions Enslave Us as Much as Fear

“I am learning that opinions enslave us as much as fear. (Perhaps opinions are formed as we tried to cope with fear in the past.) I don’t know but this quote (shown above) is speaking to me today.  Am I willing to see the truth about my thinking? Am I willing to let go of old patterns of thought that may have been useful at one time when I didn’t know how else to move in the world? Am I willing to actually be free? Sometimes it seems like we find safety in limited spaces, limited thinking. But limiting beliefs enslave us because we miss what God would have for us! And it’s so much bigger than we can imagine. We work and think in small ways, only with what we already know. I’ve been on a journey of surrendering my opinions and my wants and needs in small ways and am finding that I basically don’t have a clue just how BIG God is and how much GOOD He has in store for me. And all I have to do is trust.”
